Cookie Policy
Effective date: {{EFFECTIVE_DATE}} · Last updated: {{LAST_UPDATED}}
1. Introduction
This Cookie Policy explains how CompareFX (operated by {{LEGAL_ENTITY}}, {{REGISTERED_ADDRESS}}) uses cookies and similar technologies on comparefx.co. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy, which describes how we process personal data more generally.
2. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device (computer, tablet, or phone) when you visit. They allow the site to recognise your device, remember your preferences, and collect information about how you use the site. Similar technologies include web storage (localStorage, sessionStorage), tracking pixels, and device fingerprinting techniques — where we refer to “cookies” below, we mean all of these.
First-party vs third-party
- First-party cookies are set by
comparefx.co itself. We use these for essential site features and our own analytics.
- Third-party cookies are set by domains other than
comparefx.co — for example analytics providers, affiliate networks, or embedded video players. They are governed by the privacy policies of those third parties.
3. Categories of cookies we use
- Essential — required for the site to work (e.g. load balancing, security, remembering your cookie choice). Cannot be switched off.
- Analytics — help us understand how readers use the site so we can improve it. Set only with your consent.
- Marketing / affiliate — used by us and by broker affiliate networks to attribute clicks and conversions so we are paid correctly. Set only with your consent.
4. Cookies this site uses
TEMPLATE TABLE. Replace the placeholder rows below with the actual cookies dropped by your live site once the consent management platform is connected. Audit with a cookie scanner (Cookiebot, OneTrust, or similar) before publishing.

5. Consent and your choices
Under the EU ePrivacy Directive and GDPR, we may only set non-essential cookies (analytics and marketing / affiliate) on your device with your prior consent. When the consent management platform is live on the site you will see a cookie banner on your first visit. You can:
- Accept all — we enable essential, analytics, and marketing cookies.
- Reject all non-essential — we enable only essential cookies. The site still works.
- Customise — choose category by category.
- Change your mind later — use the “Cookie settings” link in the footer to reopen the banner at any time.
TODO: connect cookie banner. A cookie banner / consent management platform (Cookiebot, OneTrust, or similar) is not yet installed on the site. When installed, link it here: {{CMP_LINK}}. Until the CMP is live, non-essential cookies must be blocked at the tag-manager layer so that no analytics or marketing cookies are dropped without consent.
6. How to manage or delete cookies in your browser
You can also manage cookies directly in your browser. Most browsers let you view, delete, and block cookies, either site by site or for all sites. Instructions:
To opt out of Google Analytics specifically, you can install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
Please note: blocking all cookies (including essential ones) may prevent parts of the site from working properly — for example, your cookie-banner choice could not be remembered.
7. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
Most browsers send a “Do Not Track” (DNT) signal or, more recently, a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal. Once our consent management platform is live, we intend to honour GPC signals from users in jurisdictions where that is legally required. Until then, please set your preferences via the browser controls above.
8. Changes to this Cookie Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy to reflect changes in the tools we use or in applicable law. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page indicates when the current version took effect. If the changes are material, we will prompt you to review the cookie banner again.
